When computers run out of memory, programs cannot load, as they should, which results in crashes or lock-ups. Low memory will also slow down load time, which means everything you do, takes more time.When hard drives are not up to speed for the task being performed, you will experience problems. Toshiba has come up with some innovative solutions by developing all types of new memory. If you have an M-Series computer, then you can purchase M-series memory, taking the existing memory of 128 megabytes to one gigabyte in the case of the M500 450. Of course, you only want to use the exact type of added memory developed for your computer. Otherwise, you could experience serious system damage.

Toshiba also created solutions for their 3200 computer, again with 3200 memory.  For the 3200 600 model, there are 64 megabytes of removable memory that comes with the computer already installed. However, if you find you need more, you would use a PC100 SDRAM DIMM, providing you a maximum of 256 megabytes. Finally, another prime example would be the Infinia computer. Once again, Infinia memory would be the upgradeable choice. In the case of the 7260, you have existing 64 megabytes of memory, which can be increased to 256 megabytes, using the 72-pin EDO DRAM SIMM.
